Guajillo Hominy Chili Beans

This Guajillo Hominy Chili Beans will warm your soul (and maybe your nose a little)!

It’s packed with Juanita’s Hominy, beans, and juicy ground beef, all simmered in a smoky guajillo chile sauce that’s bursting with flavor. Are you salivating already? ‘Cause we are! Dive in and try this for yourself.


  • 1 can (25 oz.) Juanita’s Mexican Style Hominy or Juanita’s White Hominy, drained
  • 2 cups cooked beans
  • 250 grams ground beef
  • 1/4 white onion, sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tomatoes
  • Guajillo sauce


  1.  Rinse and drain the can of Juanita’s Hominy.
  2. Blend the tomatoes, garlic, guajillo sauce, and a little water until smooth.
  3. In a pot with oil, sauté the sliced onion until it becomes translucent. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Add salt to taste.
  4.  Add the blended tomato mixture to the pot and mix well. Add powdered chicken broth with tomato.
  5. Blend the hominy until smooth and add to the pot, along with the beans. Mix very well and leave over medium heat until the meat is cooked.
  6. Let the chili simmer for a few minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
