Buttery Hominy Japaleño Tacos

ABOUT THIS RECIPE:

Tacos have a new player in town. This simple mixture combines Juanita’s Hominy with sauteed onions, jalapeños, and butter full of flavor and ready in under 20 minutes. Serve it in tacos for a scrumptious meal!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 can (25 oz.) Juanita’s Mexican Style Hominy or Juanita’s White Hominy
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 serrano pepper, diced
  • ¼ red onion, diced
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Tortillas

STEP BY STEP:

  1. Rinse and drain the Juanita’s Hominy.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat, then add the butter and olive oil.
  3. Once the butter has melted, toss in the diced onion and serrano pepper.
  4. Sauté until the onion turns translucent.
  5. Incorporate the rinsed and drained Juanita’s Hominy into the skillet, and continue sautéing.
  6. Season with salt to taste.
  7. Serve in tacos and enjoy!
